In 2003, the staff of The Center for Families, along with the help of community volunteers, began the creation of a wonderful Serenity Garden. The focal point of the setting is a large koi pond, complete with waterfall and 20 foot stream, which was donated by John Cash of Arklatex Water Gardens. The Charles T. Beaird Foundation generously awarded a grant to add a cedar privacy fence, foot bridge, furniture, and gazebo for the garden. Our gratitude is offered to each helping heart and hand that made brought this place into being.
While still in progress, the Serenity Garden offers tranquil and peaceful surroundings that invite a quiet moment. The gentle sound of the waterfall, the vibrant colors, and the walking paths help soothe the soul and facilitate the process of growth. Nature’s therapeutic properties enhance counseling and create a serene environment that innately heals. You are invited to come experience for yourself!
